1. Overview
SafeSpace is built on the principle that you should feel safe — not just emotionally, but in how your data is handled. This guide explains every privacy setting available to you on the Platform and how each one affects your experience.
You can access your privacy settings at any time by navigating to{" "} Account Settings > Privacy in the Platform.
2. Account Privacy Settings
2.1 Email Notifications
Control which emails SafeSpace sends to you:
- Transactional emails (account verification, password resets, subscription receipts): These cannot be disabled as they are required for the operation of your account.
- Session reminders: Receive a reminder before a scheduled session. You can enable or disable this in Settings > Notifications.
- Marketing emails: Receive updates, tips, and announcements from SafeSpace. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or by toggling this off in Settings > Notifications.
2.2 Profile Visibility
Your profile on SafeSpace is visible only to:
- You.
- SafeSpace staff, for account management and safety purposes.
- The Listener(s) assigned to your sessions.
Your profile is never publicly visible and is not indexed by search engines.
2.3 Username
You may choose any username during registration. We recommend{" "} not using your real name as your username. Your username is visible to your Listener during chat sessions.
3. Conversation and Message Settings
3.1 Message Storage
All messages are stored securely for the duration of your active account. This allows you to review previous conversations with your Listener at any time. You cannot selectively delete individual messages within a conversation at this time.
3.2 Account Deactivation and Data Deletion
When you deactivate your account:
- All messages and conversation history are permanently deleted within 30 days.
- Your profile and account data are removed from our active systems.
- Your payment history may be retained by Stripe in accordance with their data retention obligations.
- Aggregated, anonymized data derived from your usage (which cannot identify you) may be retained for platform improvement.
To deactivate your account, go to{" "} Account Settings > Account > Deactivate Account . This action is irreversible. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered.
4. Cookie Settings

4.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are required for the Platform to work and cannot be turned off. They include cookies that keep you logged in and maintain your session security.
