SafeSpace is a community built on trust, empathy, and respect. These guidelines help ensure that everyone — users and Listeners alike — feels safe, heard, and supported.

Treat everyone with dignity and kindness, regardless of background or beliefs.
Privacy
What's shared in sessions stays in sessions. No exceptions.
Empathy
Listen without judgment. Seek to understand, not to fix.

Creating a space where everyone feels secure is our #1 priority.
2. User Conduct Guidelines
2.1 Be Respectful
- Treat Listeners and other users with courtesy and respect
- Do not use hate speech, slurs, or discriminatory language
- Avoid aggressive, threatening, or harassing behavior
- Respect boundaries - both yours and others'
2.2 No Harmful Behavior
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:
- Threatening violence or self-harm
- Harassment, stalking, or intimidation
- Sharing content that promotes self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders
- Sexual harassment or inappropriate sexual content
- Impersonating another person or listener
- Scamming, fraud, or deceptive behavior
2.3 Protect Privacy
- Do not ask Listeners for their personal contact information
- Do not share your own personal contact information
- Do not record or screenshot conversations without consent
- Do not share screenshots or details of conversations elsewhere
2.4 Stay Within Platform
- All support conversations must stay on SafeSpace
- Do not attempt to move conversations to other platforms or in-person meetings
- Report any Listener who tries to take conversations off-platform
3. Listener Guidelines
3.1 Professional Boundaries
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries at all times
- Do not provide medical, psychiatric, or legal advice
- Stay within your scope of training and expertise
- Refer to crisis resources when appropriate
3.2 Confidentiality
- Never share user information outside of the platform
- Do not discuss users with other Listeners except for supervision purposes
- Use approved, secure channels for any necessary case consultation
3.3 Responsiveness
- Respond to users in a timely manner
- Be present and attentive during sessions
- Avoid distractions during conversations
- If unavailable, communicate clearly about expectations
4. Content That Is Not Allowed
The following content is prohibited on SafeSpace:
- Illegal content or instructions for illegal activities
- Graphic violence or gore
- Child exploitation material (reported to authorities immediately)
- Harassment or bullying content
- Spam or commercial solicitations
- Misinformation that could cause harm
- Content that violates anyone's privacy or intellectual property rights
5. Reporting Violations
If you witness or experience a violation of these guidelines, please report it immediately:
- Use the in-app report feature
- Email privacy@my-safespace.org
- Provide as much detail as possible (screenshots are helpful)
All reports are reviewed within 24 hours. We take all violations seriously and will take appropriate action, up to and including permanent account suspension.
6. Enforcement Actions
Depending on the severity and frequency of violations, we may take the following actions:
- Warning: A formal notice that a guideline was violated
- Temporary suspension: Account locked for a specified period
- Permanent ban: Account permanently removed from SafeSpace
- Legal referral: For serious violations, we may notify law enforcement
7. Appeals Process
If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal by emailing privacy@my-safespace.org with "Appeal" in the subject line and an explanation of why you believe the action was incorrect. Appeals are reviewed within 10 business days.

Everyone plays a role in keeping SafeSpace safe and supportive. Here's how you can help:
